A working preview of a stationery set. Seven details, filled in once, appear on a business card, its reverse and a letterhead, and the piece being edited is marked on every template that carries it. The company, the names, the addresses and the phone numbers are invented, and the previews are screen proofs rather than press-ready files.

The business card, its reverse and the letterhead are drawn here from the seven details beside them, and they redraw as those details change.

A recreation of the template personalisation feature, built for this portfolio: one set of details, applied across a business card and a letterhead. The company, names, addresses and phone numbers are invented, and the previews are screen proofs rather than press-ready files.

The brief

Connecting a print business to its online workflows.

Modernise a dated business website, support mobile visitors, and extend its operational and marketing functionality.

My contribution

What I built

I redesigned and deployed the website for Calgary print shop Petro-Tech Printing, then adapted the presentation for mobile access. The work expanded beyond the visual refresh to include PHP-based FTP, email and form handling, alongside analytics collection for marketing campaigns using QR codes and physical mailouts. It is a useful example of design and practical web functionality evolving together as a business needs more from its site.

One build, tuned to read well on every screen from phone to desktop.

Scope of work

  • Website design and deployment
  • Responsive template and mobile presentation
  • Integration of PHP handling for FTP, email and forms
  • Analytics collection supporting QR-code and physical-mail marketing campaigns

What came of it

  • A dated business site replaced, then rebuilt on a responsive template so mobile visitors get the same pages.

  • A PHP handler behind the site for FTP transfers, email and form submissions.

  • Analytics collection tied to the QR-code and physical-mail campaigns the shop was running.
